My name is Kristopher Bryan Luke Christou, hence the title of this blog being krisesandchrosses. The notion and title of this blog is in relation to the rollercoaster which is life and the kris-crossing journey which is a once in a life time experience.
At the moment I am studying a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Wollongong and am undertaking a double major in Digital Media Communication and Marketing and Advertising Communication, with a minor in Public Relation. Wanting and aspiring to be a media professional is my dream, and one day I hope to recognise this goal.
Working with large companies such as Actuex and M&C Saatchi’s Hidden Characters Group has allowed me to cultivate my skills of writing for the public in a professional setting. Crafting stories and content which affects individuals and makes them contemplate about topics which I am interested in is what I enjoy doing. The professional setting of writing is one that I enjoy very much and see myself working professionally as a writer, account manager for an agency or even a content creator online.
I am in love with the academic evolution of narrative writing in public, including personal narrative and the ramifications of this style. It is the implications of writing stories in a professional environment which intrigues me and the existent facades and personas which we create through social media. How much we share and write should be in the power of the writer. If you are willing to be vulnerable, that is a strength, respect and praise should be given where it is due.
In my past, I was the media, marketing and public relations manager at UOW Motorsport. Currently, I work as a casual retail assistant at Repco and am a Features Writer at Chattr.
